Talane’s Story

Site created on July 8, 2022

Here is Talane's benefit account: https://gofund.me/8af7cab1

Recently she noticed a lump on one of her breasts that she had evaluated. On June 30th she had a biopsy done, and it came back as invasive mammary carcinoma. We'll be updating this site during her journey.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Sam Robinson

It's been awhile since the last update, Talane is doing good.

December 8th was her last round of chemo and she got to ring the bell! Her hair is coming in thick and looking good, although her eyesight hasn't been 100% from the chemo so glasses are the latest accessory.

We got to attend a Minnesota Wild game this last weekend, and look at how cute she is in her wig!

She's explained the next steps to me, hopefully I get this right (she'll fact check me if I don't 😉):

She has her double mastectomy scheduled for February 20th, the first thing they will do is dose her up with some radiation, then move her to the OR where a plastic surgeon and general surgeon will remove the breast tissue, areolas, and affected lymph nodes on the left side. They will then place expanders in to prep for the reconstruction.  Since it involves the lymphatic system, they are expecting a good amount of drainage so they will have drains placed until its minimal. This will require her to be on weight restrictions for potentially a few weeks.  The next steps will involve reconstruction.
