This is Jennifer writing on behalf of Beverly and Sylvia.

Sylvia asked that I write a clarifying post. Though Sylvia did indeed have another gamma knife procedure to remove two new tumors in her brain on June 3 so that they have no chance to grow,  those two tumors are not related to her symptoms. Her symptoms related to her eyesight, speech, dizziness, and occasional confusion are related to the original 7 tumors that were zapped in her first gamma knife procedure. Whether her symptoms are related to these 7 as they swell and die or from good tissue being killed during that procedure or from growth of these 7, we are not sure. All we know is that her current symptoms are almost surely permanent.

When we were praying for the June 3rd procedure, we were praying that the pain would not be too great and that no more healthy tissue be damaged. Sylvia had been mistakenly told that there would be pain with this procedure, but that was untrue and it was painless, much to her relief.

Doctors are discussing another procedure with Beverly and Sylvia for July. No details on that yet. Beverly and Sylvia are still monitoring Sylvia’s health and waiting for next steps to determine whether they can go to Maine to see Robin and his wife play in a festival in July.
