This is the story of baby Sylvia. Anthony and Michaela learned at her 20 week ultrasound that Sylvia has only two of the 4 chambers for her heart and was diagnosed with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. In order to have a functioning heart she needs 3 open heart surgeries within the first 3 years of life and eventually needs a heart transplant when the time comes. The first two surgeries will happen quickly the first being a week after she is born and the second 4-5 months old. The third will happen when she's about 3 years of age. Each procedure rearranges the flow of blood within the heart to ensure that it gets to the body properly.
