**UPDATE** mom is out of surgery and Dr. Rozen said everything went great! We have been moved to the ICU and will stay here overnight with plans to head home on Sunday!
Today is the big day! As most of you know for the last year and a half my mom has been struggling with the effects of Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which caused permanent paralysis on the right side of her face. After many many trips to Dallas for various treatments, procedures, and surgeries, today is the big one! We are back in Dallas this morning for a nerve transplant, which will reanimate the right side of her face, giving her back the movement she has lost, but more importantly, it will allow her to smile again! We are very excited and hopeful, but also a little nervous for the long day ahead of us.
Asking for positive vibes to be sent our way for a successful surgery, and a speedy recovery!
For those of you that know my mom, you know that having to take time off work and taking it easy at home may be the hardest part of this process for her. She does not like to sit still, and is always on the go! Please feel free to drop her a note on her Facebook, or here on CaringBridge!
