I am overdue to update everyone on how my mom is doing. As we all are, she is trying her best to persevere through these struggling COVID-19 months, with very little contact with family and friends. Thank goodness all is safe and sound at her place of residence at Lewis.

Lewis is very disciplined in making sure the residence are kept busy and looked after. I have visited with my mom through her window and Lewis coordinated an awesome parade of cars of family and friends for the residents which I was able to participate in.  Of course the theme of my vehicle was the St. Louis Cardinals lol, and I threw to her a Cards baseball cap to her. I acted all goofy and crazy waving and hooting and hollering, just like she would do for me ❤️.  Everytime we see each other we cry lol!!

Lewis also has now provided family and friends the opportunity to schedule a 15 minute visit with residents by creating a fake see through wall outside which gets them outside and gives them a chance to get in a chat with their loved ones. It isn’t much time but we will take what we can get. Please feel free to sched a block of time to see her if your time allows.  I am so thankful to have such wonderful caregivers for my mom.

 A bit of good news is she is on solid foods now, so now it is just a matter of getting her to eat enough to hopefully ween her off of the g-tube. 

A bit of fun news - her 80th birthday is right around the corner!!!! July 9th!!! I’ve coordinated with Lewis to have a Cardinals/Cubs theme day on her birthday for her and all of the residence and caregivers. I take a cake over for her to share with everyone and everyone can celebrate her birthday and the baseball rivals 😂🥳😁
