Suzie was taken 911 to the hospital January 1st.  She wa sound to have low sodium, magnesium, potassium, blood pressure, and oxygen levels.  She had a breathing tube inserted and was transferred to the ICU. They suspected she may have a blood clot from her neurosurgery 3 weeks prior.  Her CAT scans were negative. Her vitals were all over the place but she was improving as her electrolytes were improving.  However, the more alert she became, the more agitated she became with the vent.  They removed the tube, but had to reinsert it 3 hours later.  Her throat swelled from irritation from the tube, making it difficult to breathe, causing her to panic. They sedated her and reinserted the tube. They added steroids, antibiotic, and antianxiety meds which helped a great deal.  They removed the tube today, looked through a scope at her throat, and kept her somewhat sedated to help with the transition.  So far, so good.  All her vitals remain stable.  We hope she has turned the corner to recovery.
