We hope to simplify the communication process by posting updates on Susan here. This is an effort to also let you know the helpful ways to support the family and what works best for them in the place they are at.  Your  words of hope and encouragement are appreciated. We are collecting 'Susanisms,' too.  Please share your funny stories and Susan quotes, because we all need to hear more than health updates. Thank you for your friendship.

Journal entry by Deborah Karpinos

Hi All,

For those who don’t know me let me introduce myself. Susan and I have been besties for 40 plus years! So I thought it  would be helpful to you all If I shared a little about my visit with Susan yesterday.

I’m not really sure what I was expecting , but… In typical Susan fashion she was amazing!  I walked in and was greeted with her beautiful smile and a big “hello Deborah Sue”. Which of course I replied, “hello Susie Q.  The next  words out of my mouth were “ omg you look gorgeous “ . She did!!

Since I speak to Susan every morning. I of course had my list of things to discuss. We laughed a ton and  enjoyed a healthy lunch from her favorite spot from my neck of the woods I got to once again see how lucky she is to have Robin as her sister and of course Evan supporting her every step of the way ( but we all  know that already)

She is working hard to recover from her surgery , so…. we just ask at this time to not bombard her with text messages or calls.   Her job now is to  rest and regain all her strength. Which we all know she has a ton of!

We will keep you posted as we learn more about her journey ahead and what she might need from all of us. She loves you all for the support that she and her family have received. Trust me … she is feeling blessed.

That’s all for now! Have a nice weekend everyone and please keep sending Susan love on this site and remember no one can ever have enough positive thoughts and prays sent their way.

Xoxo Deborah
