Welcome to Susan’s CaringBridge Site
Sign In to Show Your SupportIt feels like the summer is reaching its appointed exit with the monsoon rains, exciting to watch and breathe in (except for that close lightning strike the other night, BOOM). But what really reminds me that a year has passed since being diagnosed with breast cancer is the return, two weeks ago, to the doctors’ offices for follow up appointments. Ah yes, the masks, the nurses, the blood draw, the gowns (open to the front, please). God is good to restore and He remains faithful. Since I was in some familiar rooms and seeing familiar faces, it reminded me of Caring Bridge and I thought it time to update you as to how I/we are doing.
The best news is: the doctors are pleased with how I am doing and don’t want to see me again until October! I had my updated mammogram yesterday, and that will give them an update and a baseline for future images. Secondly, the estrogen blockers I have been taking since the beginning of June have not caused any adverse side effects. We are very grateful.
Actually, the really best news: we were able to travel and see our kids and grandkids (after more than a year). Several of them (the 7-year-old especially) were not impressed with my new ‘do. John Henry’s editorial comment: “I liked your hair better before.” Ah, well. Another highlight: we were able to help and participate in the Navigator Missionary Conference in early July, interacting with families from around the globe. God is at work.
Thank you for traveling along with us on this journey.
Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. Ecc 4:9
Again, thank you for your prayers and thoughts.
