Susan’s Story

Site created on February 11, 2021

For those of you that know my mom, it's with a heavy heart that I tell you that she tested positive for Covid on 2/4/21. She's currently in the ICU at Baylor Scott & White in McKinney, Texas. She has been put on a ventilator in a drug-induced coma with the hopes of helping her lungs recover from pneumonia. She's going to have an incredibly difficult fight ahead of her. She's an amazing woman, and I know she will give it her all. Please send all the positivity, thoughts, and prayers (if you're religious) her way. I know she will appreciate it, and we will, too.

The doctor said she will go through a roller coaster of ups and downs and to temper expectations when she has a good day, because with Covid, good days can and will be followed by bad days. That is "normal," and is part of the recovery process. We will be posting updates on her progress here, as we receive them.  All of your well-wishes truly mean the world to us. Thank you so much, friends and family!!!

Hello all! I know it's been a minute since we have posted, and we apologize about that. The good news in all of this is that we have finally been able to get mom's celebration of life scheduled. Please see the attached save the date for the details. We welcome anyone who is able to make it, and we completely understand if traveling during this time is still a little bit difficult.

We will also be having a reception afterwards at Kevin and Erica's house, and everyone is welcome. There will be food and drinks, and we will be telling as many stories and good times as we can remember. We hope to hear all of yours as well!!

Our mom valued family and friends above all else, and she had an amazing crew. You have all been so kind and loving throughout all of this, and we sincerely appreciate it. 🙏 It means so much when you are grieving.

Sidenote: We promise hand-written thank you notes will be going out to all who have sent cards and flowers. She would haunt us for the rest of our lives if we didn't. 😂

We look forward to seeing everyone on May 25th!

Love and thanks,

-Chay and Kevin
