During Erica's spring break, we visited our home in Oshkosh. We stayed there just a couple days. We could not believe how low the water was in Lake Winnebago.
Susan continues to make progress. Sometimes the progress is small to me because I spend time with Susan, but others who have not seen her in awhile, are amazed at how much she has changed. She continues to have therapy each week at the UW Therapy Center. At each session, she is scheduled for one hour of OT and then another hour of PT.
The therapist are terrific. They do things differently each visit and suggest things for me to do at home. I then try to do the therapy each morning with Susan and then train our caregivers to do the exercises at home By following up on her therapy at home along with the therapy at UW, she has made big improvements in her arm and leg movements. We are very fortunate to have UW Therapy available once a week. We are presently scheduled for the rest of May and hope to continue into June, if Medicare accepts!!!
In our last visit home, I loaded our trailer up with Susan's electric bike and it now sits in our garage. With some of the warm weather we have had, I took her out on several rides. She loves going thru the woods along the water. The bike is a big hit around the condos that surround us. Many have stopped us to discuss the bike. It is fun!! I plan to buy a new trailer that is lower so that I can take her on many bike trails around her. Erica and Brett want to go with us on some trials. The bike is charged to go 30 miles. We will see about that!!! I also brought our other bikes. I plan to go biking by my self occasionally. I am in the process of buying a new bike rack for our car.
Joel visited us this last week, and we went golfing. I haven't golfed in almost two years and it showed!!
Our life has slowed down a little in the last month. Our many appointments with doctors, dentists, and etc. have now been stretched out to several months rather that days. It has been an interesting time meeting new people who will guide us on our health.
My sister and her family from Naperville, ILL visited us this last week. We have not seen them since the covid started effecting our lives. Susan's sisters visit us many times and we love seeing them.
That is it for now! Thank you for your prayers and cards. I am so thankful for all of you and reading your comments when you visit the site. I enjoy reading them to Susan. I am so impressed by the number of people who visit the site.
God bless you!!
