Susan’s Story

Site created on March 31, 2018

Susan had an episode on Saturday 3/24 that resulted in her being rushed to the hospital. Upon arrival at the hospital, she had a seizure which ultimately led to her being intubated.

She is currently  in the ICU at St. Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix where she has a team of the best doctors from Barrow Neurological Institute treating her. She is heavily sedated to help control seizures. They have not determined the cause of the seizures and continue to search for answers.

Jay and all of the kids are currently with her.   We have  been sitting at her bedside waiting for the seizures to subside so she does not have to be sedated. This is going to be a long recovery journey for Susan.   Please keep Susan and Jay in your prayers.

We will provide a daily update on this site to keep everyone informed of Susans progress. At this time, we are limiting visitors to family. Cards are welcome but unfortunately, flowers are not allowed in the ICU.

Today mom and dad started a new journey…..... going home.    They have not been home together for over two months. They are both very excited but nervous for this next step of the journey please keep them in your prayers.

Mom will continue to get therapy at home and they will also monitor her health and meds several times a week.    Mom still has a long road ahead but she has the fight and desire in her so please keep encouraging her.  Thanks to everyone for all of your support it means the world to our entire family.
