Obituary for Susan Jean Braun

Susan "Sue" Jean Braun, age 70, of Hackensack, Minnesota passed away December 5, 2023, at Mercy Hospital with many she loved by her side. Susan was born in Red Wing, MN, and the fourth of six kids to Raymond and Mary Seidel. After growing up in South Minneapolis and graduating from Regina High School, Susan started a long career at Graco where she met her soulmate, Mike. It didn't take long for them to fall in love and get married. In 1981, Susan and Mike became parents to Danielle. For many years they lived in Andover, raising their daughter, working together, and enjoying time off having fun and sharing hobbies. Susan loved planting flowers and garage saling with Mike. Their treasures can still be found at Antiques Minnesota to this day. In 2004, she became a grandma. Susan cherished her role as "rah-rah" dearly and took much pride in it. Susan was loyal, compassionate, and full of heart. She worked at Graco for 38 years and was married to Mike for 43 years. She loved spending time with family and friends and had a natural gift of making those around her feel special. Susan never missed a beat; always sending thoughtful cards and messages, complete with clever rhymes, anecdotes, and affirmations. Post-retirement, Susan enjoyed watching sunsets, reading at the end of the dock, and planting flowers with Mike at their lake home in Hackensack. In the winters, you could find her doing Zumba or enjoying a good book on their patio in Surprise, Arizona. She was always up for an adventure and could make any situation fun. Her sense of humor, bright smile, and huge heart will be missed by all who knew her. Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Mary Seidel; and two brothers, Robert and Tom Seidel. She is survived by her husband, Mike Braun; daughter, Danielle; son-in-law, Cory; siblings: Kathleen Kjoberg (Mark), Mary Helmin (Ken) and John Seidel (Ann); grandchildren, Alivia and Audrina; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
