Journal entry by Olivia Desormeaux

Hi everyone,

One of momma's good friends, Brian Martin, has incredibly and generously started a book drive in her name.  I'm posting below what he wrote about it on Facebook:

"I'm a firm believer in finding a way for something good to come out of something bad. So, I'm going to raise some funds for the Broughton community to honor Amy Desormeaux's memory. She was a lover of students, libraries, and learning, that's for sure! So, donations will be used to purchase books to be donated to each of the libraries Amy worked at in Wake County schools... Broughton, Heritage, and Apex-Friendship. I'm thinking we'll ask for her family's input on the book titles selected and we'll figure out a way to have something printed in them as a memorial.

You can donate through...
Or by Venmo - send to me - @Brian-Martin-435.
Deadline for donations will be Friday, February 5th. Note this donation drive is not sponsored by/associated with NBHS or the Wake County Public School System."
