Thank you all for checking in on #SuperCooper! It's been a heck of a week and we're all looking forward to a hopefully uneventful weekend ahead! Cooper had a quick check-up with his pediatrician on Friday, where we learned he had an ear infection. I was shocked to hear this as he's never had one before!
He has been taking a prophylactic antibiotic 2x/day, Friday, Saturdays and Sundays which started just a few weeks post-transplant (late May). We were told he'd be on bactrim for at least 6 months. Just when we thought he was completely done with meds, he now has to take 5 more days' worth of amoxicillin to treat the ear infection. Once we administer his last dose on Tuesday, he should be free of ALL meds! HUGE progress from just 6 months ago!
We were ecstatic to hear Cooper's brain MRI was C-L-E-A-R! No new evidence of disease, which we obviously won't ever anticipate seeing again. We are cautiously optimistic, but because our faith has, and always will be, bigger than our fears, we know God has His perfect plan all laid out for the Leagues. We trust that he will continue to reveal that to us so we can be a blessing to others who have experienced tradegy in their lives. We continue to pray that the long term side effects from all the harmful drugs Cooper received during chemotherapy are minimal and don't cause any issues down the road.
It's rare you will hear anyone say they're "cancer-free". They'll use words like "cancer survivor" or "in remission" instead. We continue to pray the results from Cooper's MRIs from here on out will ALWAYS be clear!
We are all ready for a new year and a fresh start. From the bottom of our hearts, we can't thank you enough for continuing to pray for our little man!! We just have so much to be grateful for this Christmas! 🎄#faithoverfear #cancersurvivor 💙❤💛
