Sullivan’s Story

Site created on February 1, 2020

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We used it to keep family and friends updated on Sullivan's journey. Sullivan was diagnosed with a vascular malformation, called the vein of Galen malformation, the day he was born.  A little after he turned a year old, he was also diagnosed with liver disease.

It was a very long road and Sullivan fought so hard, but ultimately he left us for a better place on September 21, 2021.  It was our honor to be his parents - we learned so much about love, strength and resilience from him.  We know he is no longer struggling and is at peace.

We have so appreciated everyone's support and encouragement - it made the long road that much easier.

Hi Friends and Family -

We are so blown away by the response to our request to help KidStreet in honor of Sully's 4th birthday!  We had a trunk full of supplies and gifts for the KidStreet team that we were able to deliver on Sully's birthday this past Wednesday.  They were SO pleasantly surprised by all of the goodies and couldn't wait to start using them with the kids there.  THANK YOU!  It did our hearts good to be able to deliver those items, visit with the staff and have Charlie with us so he could start to see what a special place KidStreet was for his big brother and others.  He was even able to participate in circle time with some of the kids.  💚

Children's Radiothon

We were also asked last week if the Children's team could share Sullivan's story again as part of their annual Alice Cares for Kids Radiothon fundraiser.  We are always thrilled to help raise money for Children's and said yes.

Even if you don't live in Denver, you can listen in to Sullivan's story again this year.  Tune in to Alice 105.9 (if you live in the Denver metro)  or stream online on Thursday, Feb. 8 at 8:20 am MT.  The radiothon runs both Thursday and Friday, Feb. 8 and 9 from  6 a.m.-6 p.m.

If you are interested in donating for the radiothon, you can do so here.

We are so grateful for everyone's support and hope you are staying warm wherever you are!

Love -

Melissa, Tim, Sullivan and Charlie
