Sue’s Story

Site created on June 19, 2021

Hello Everyone!

What we originally thought was gallbladder issues for our mom, Sue, has turned out to be Stage 2A Pancreatic Cancer. We are thankful that we caught it early and know she will have the most love and support from her friends and family as we go through this journey again. Please leave messages for her here and we will make sure she is getting them :) If we need help with driving to appointments when we are not available, we will set up a calendar for help.

Journal entry by Stacy Ness

Wow it's been a month since the last post! Sorry for the delay.....

We talked to the oncologist a while ago and I keep forgetting to post. Good news is that the pancreas looks good and there wasn't any cancer remaining around the tumor area! There was also no evidence of cancer in the abdomen or lungs. Unfortunately, they did find cancer cells in 2 of the 18 lymph nodes. Because of this they wanted her to have 4 more rounds of Chemo that she started after the new year. We will be heading back to the Mayo soon to meet with the vascular team to check on her blood clot.

Mom had her second round of Chemo this week. This time around the chemo is hitting her harder-- I told her its because she has gotten so skinny!! On top of being tired and needing to rest a lot, she is very nauseous. She is at my house now but will be going home again tomorrow (against my wishes).

She is humbled by the outpouring of love and support she has gotten! She says with tears in her eyes "it makes you realize that your friends are a true blessing".

Thank you everyone! Stacy
