Sue’s Story

Site created on February 8, 2024

I have been diagnosed with stage 1b pancreatic cancer. This is a marathon journey and not a sprint. The goals are to shrink my cancer mass and then reconfigure my upper digestive system. I am very impressed with the professionals in charge of my health. Welcome to our CaringBridge site. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Great news!!!!!

Vince and I met with my surgeon today and my response to treatment has been excellent.  My PET scan no longer lights up at the tumor site (or anywhere else).  That is amazing.

My tumor still shows on the CT scan and must still be removed and my digestive system reconfigured, so I will be able to eat.

Now we are worried about cancer stragglers and I still have at least four more chemotherapy treatments to make sure we kill all cancer cells that may be trying to survive in my body.

So for now we keep on fighting as we have been.  I am renewed in my will to fight this invader.
