Sue’s Story

Site created on August 22, 2023

As most of you know, 28 years ago Sue had a brain tumor.  She underwent surgery to remove the tumor and had chemotherapy and radiation to treat the cancerous remains.  Sue has battled ongoing memory and cognitive issues over the years and recently experienced a series of seizures that have resulted in some physical and mental challenges.
We have set this site up to be able to update everybody on Sue's progress with her current medical journey. In the first Journal entry, Zach gives a rundown of whats been going on during the past couple of weeks.
We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Your well wishes will be read to Sue. We can already hear her being very appreciative of hearing from you.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Dan Meyer

We have been home for a week now.  Sue has had a couple of PT sessions and a speech therapy session.  She continues to make progress.  Her speech therapist says that the best thing she can do is talk, so feel free to call her or stop in for a visit and help her with therapy.  Walking is also good therapy but outside walks are a bit tough in our neighborhood with all of the acorns on the ground.  A mall walk  might be the answer.

We made it out to the Roundhouse Oktoberfest on Saturday.  It was her first time out in public in about six weeks.

We are heading to Omaha this weekend to see Nora (and Karen and Zach)  Sue should get plenty of therapy chasing her around.
