Journal

Hello,  Hope you had a good July 4th holiday, and a day of relaxation.  Our day was quiet, by design.  The backyard has been recently manicured and it was pleasant to sit outside and enjoy the green space (and swat mosquitoes).

It is with great relief to tell you my radiation skin is finally improving, and less red and raw that it has been for weeks.  I am delighted to have that nasty “sunburn” in my rear view mirror.

I will begin an estrogen suppressant medication on July 29th, and maintain notes about side effects.  Although I have a September 30th appointment with my oncologist, she has invited “My Chart” messages regarding side effects prior to that appointment.  Every patient experiences medication side effects differently, therefore it is not possible to predict or prepare for how you may feel as a result of beginning the medication.

I have December follow-up appointments for mammograms, ultrasound, bloodwork, and radiation and oncology meetings to talk about short-term path forward.

Currently, I am seeing no more than one client per day (none of them know my personal medical status).  You know how much I love the work I do with leaders, and continuing a “normal” work routine helps me maintain my sanity.

Beginning on Thursday from 6 to 8:30pm for eight weeks, I will attend a meditation class.  I’m looking to hone skills that will help me quiet and calm my mind, so rest or sleep will return to something more like the great eight-hour sleep I used to enjoy.

Best wishes for the remaining summer.  Thank you for your kind and frequent messages and support.  Love, Sue and Logan
