He’s Coming Home.

Last night, Dad declared that he was ready to come home and today, the doctors confirmed that he can be discharged around 2pm. We are all thankful and we’ll be thrilled to see him and be together.

Following the second surgery, he has experienced much more pain but thankfully, that is now being managed and he’s been walking the halls and eating like normal. He’ll return home today and then continue with dialysis Monday, Wednesday and Fridays for four hours each day. 

This is definitely not a post that I ever wanted to write. Repeating that phrase “he will be on dialysis” verbally or in writing is almost unbearable. We don’t understand why this happened but that’s ok. We don’t need to know why. We trust God and know that this was out of our hands from the beginning; from the water sack, the current kidney functioning, the clotted kidney, it’s all been somewhat puzzling. 

So, we trust God and we believe He still has good things for us. Pray for God to make a way. Pray for healing for Dad and I, physically, emotionally, spiritually and mentally. Pray for our faith to deepen and our fears and questions to be dimmed. Pray for dad as he continues with dialysis and restricted diet. Pray for me as I balance motherhood and this new reality. 

Our network of people caring for us, praying us through this and blessing us with meals, childcare and messages has been overwhelming. Thank you for responding to our family during this time of need. Thank you for being the Church and serving us well. We are forever grateful.
