Newest Update

Journal entry by Casey Buske

Hello Family and Friends.  There hasn't been an update for a bit as changes are happening very slowly with dad.  I had a conference call with dads 2 physical therapists and the social worker at the Pavilion in Slinger earlier this week.  All positives happening with him.  When dad first got there he needed to be moved and transferred via Hoyer lift.  As of Saturday dad is able to sit up, stand up and pivot to sit in his wheelchair with 2 person assist.  Of course like before, once one good positive happens, another problem comes about.  Dads oxygen level drops into the 70's when he is up.  He's been placed on oxygen again, about 2 liters, and then his oxygen levels do come back up.  Yesterday he was seen by his pulmonologist and to say the least, dad has come along way.  His doctor is very happy with how dad is doing, but is working on improving dads oxygen levels while up and around.
I had a virtual meeting with the 2 therapists as we did a tour of mom and dads house.  That was a real eye opener as what dad needs to do in order to be able to come home and what would need to be done if he is able to come home.  We are checking into all options available to us.  Still along road ahead.  If you have extra Christmas cards available please send one to my dad.  He always enjoyed receiving Christmas cards.  Here's the name and address of where he is:
The Pavilion at Glacier Valley
1900 American Eagle Drive
Slinger, WI 53086

But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.
