Journal entry by Amy Copenhaver

My soul was at peace in this field tonight.  He would have been so happy, and I was honored to be able to experience this for him.

It's his best harvest, ever.  Even with the drought, even with cancer.  We weren't lucky in a lot of ways this year, but God blessed us today.

I think this is Steve's sign to all of us that everything will be ok.  I know he was with us in that cab.

I'm so thankful this beautiful, albeit cold, night for: Farm Rescue, Ben Smith, volunteer Brent from Nevada, Greg Alber, Nathan Alber for the ride and memories and support, Dean Weiss, Mark Crawford, Norm Mills, Ron Gosse, Loren Clark, to my mom for holding down the fort, and mostly to my dad, who helped get this all organized today on our end.

Thanks to John Klotzbach for getting the story out about Farm Rescue.  The Iowa Corn Association is providing meals tomorrow, and KWWL will be providing coverage of Farm Rescue as well at our farm.

My heart is full and I'm so very, very thankful.

Steve's desk quote for today:
"We know that we cannot reap the harvest, but we hope that we may so well prepare the land and so diligently sow the seed that our successors may gather the ripened grain."
