Prayer Warriors,

This is Lori. Firstly, we are humbled by the generosity of this group. The outpouring of love, support and prayers have been nothing short of outstanding. We are  grateful to be surrounded by so many wonderful people. 

The waiting is the hard part, and for that we are offering up our suffering specifically for our soon to be ordained priests, Christopher Daniels and Arturo Merriman.  Their vocation is such a gift!

We got word from our oncologist yesterday that the results from the liquid biopsy (CT-DNA) was inconclusive. What that means is that there simply wasn't enough circulating tumor to provide meaningful data that could be used to guide the next steps in treatment.  He wants us to go back to Boston to have an excisional biopsy (surgical removal ) of the lymph node that is under his clavicle, which is what has grown the most since the last visit.  They will be able to sequence the genomes and see what is causing the cancer to have returned.  This will happen in two appointments and should be just a day procedure, or a minimum of an overnight. The first appointment is scheduled for May 2nd. 

While we continue to wait, we are putting all of our faith into God's hands and ask that you pray specifically for our oncologist, who is new to us as our former doctor retired, for the surgeon to prioritize Steve so the biopsy can happen ASAP, for the results of the biopsy to help direct the next treatment, for a safe surgery with no complications, and for our peace.
