Stetson & Bakker’s Story

Site created on April 2, 2024

Hello! Welcome to our page :)
Stetson and Bakker are micro premies who were born at 1 lb 3 oz and 1 lb 1 oz at a little over 22 weeks ( so just a little over half baked). Here on this page, I will try to keep every updated on the boys! But as we feel these days, no news is good news, and we look for boring days on this Nicu journey :)

Journal entry by Anya Postma

Last night I got to hold Stetson for the first time after 36 days! What a crazy wonderful feeling 💙

Thursday he came off of the Jett ventilator around 10 am as did Bakker. After checking his lungs with an xray, they looked way better on the conventional ventilator, Bakkers looked about the same and required more breathing assistance. So for 2 hours I got to cuddle Stetson, while he slept and drooled all over me haha. Bakker was doing alright but overnight he became more drifty and his lungs looked worse so they decided to put him on the Jett again and give it a few days.

But really overall they have had a very very boring week. A typical day is alittle bloodwork, an xray, diaper changes and a whole lot of nap time. Besides the whole Vent thing and noticing that both boys have a ton of hair, all of us have been very content.

Once again thank you for your prayers!
