Stephanie’s Story

Site created on September 25, 2020

Written by Jacqueline :

This week, my sister Stephanie Doudrick was diagnosed with colon cancer.
They found a 3-inch tumor in her lower colon, a smaller mass in her mesentery, and another tiny one in her liver. The doctors believe she is at stage three or four, pending more appointments and biopsies.

Stephanie is a single mother to three amazing kids, the youngest only three years old. Not only will she have to parent and provide for the three of them (especially since they are all doing virtual school), but now she has to factor in trips to chemo and doctor appointments. Stephanie is not sure she will be able to work at this time, leaving her and her kids with little to no income.

Stephanie is a talented, kind, loving person and will drop anything she is working on to make sure you're OK. She is an avid gamer in the Twitch community, loves animals, and enjoys painting with her daughter. She is strong and we know she will fight cancer with all she has, but she needs your help!

I am calling on our family, community, and friends to stay #StephStrong and fight side-by-side with Stephanie as she battles cancer. Any donation amount helps to pay for rent, gas, food, and bills.

Please help ease the burden during this extremely difficult time for the Doudrick family. If you cannot donate at this time, please send any prayers and well wishes toward Stephanie to show she is not alone in this fight.

Thank you and God bless you

Newest Update

Journal entry by Stephanie D

I haven't updated lately! If you follow me on facebook or twitter you may be a little up to date, but I still have news.
SO on Wednesday I had my liver biopsy and port placement. You know that it was a little rough recovery.
I am doing much better. Still a little sore around the placement site, but mostly good. I've been REALLY tired lately. Almost falling asleep when I am putting Logan to bed (though I don't fall asleep, I promise!) being completely exhausted after work and a little dizzy at times. Doc says its probably a combo of the cancer working on my body, being mentally exhausted and dehydrated. Keeping a close eyes on things though.
Important news though. Liver biopsy was positive for cancer in my liver. SO it has metastasized, and is stage 4. Nothing much changes now, I will hopefully qualify for disability quickly. Chemo starts on the 21st. I will be there for about 2-3 hours and then go home on an infusion over two days. Then when they disconnect me, I have been told those days are the worst for symptoms and side effects. SO time will tell how I handle everything. This weekend Jacqueline is coming to town to be with us, so we are going to have fun!

Thank you for all the love and support. <3
