Steph’s Story

Site created on June 9, 2023

On January 17th, 2023 Steph was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). As you can imagine, this came as quite a surprise to her and the family. A few days later she started her first cycle of chemotherapy. After 33 days of treatment and recovery in the hospital, Steph went home in remission!

On May 17th, 2023 the leukemia returned and she immediately began another cycle of chemotherapy. Steph has endured several complications throughout this journey, the most current being hopefully, temporary, impaired vision. She continues to recover so she can return home and continue her treatment plan.

One thing that has been invaluable in this process is having a caregiver with Steph. As many of you know this is not a small expense or something covered by insurance. We are asking for help with the cost of that supportive care. The fundraising goal of $50,000 would provide 6-8 months of 24/7 supportive care, whether she is in the hospital or at home.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Ashley Cornelius

It is with a heavy heart that I write this update. Our amazing Stephanie passed Tuesday morning August 15th, surrounded by her family. She fought an amazing battle with grace but in the end Heaven needed another angel.

As a family we cannot thank you everyone enough for the love and support she received. The comments that were left on her page touched her heart and reminded her of what a truly amazing group of people she had in her corner. Please remember her with a song in your heart and a smile on your face because that’s what she would want.

A celebration of Life will be held on Saturday August 19th, 2pm at
St. Mel Catholic Church
20870 Ventura Blvd.
Woodland Hills, Ca. 91364

Celebrate her with clothing of color and if you have anything in Eagles green, she’d be smiling down.

If anyone would like to contribute to the reception, side dishes are appreciated.
