Journal entry by Chad Wagner —
Thanks to everyone for your messages and support. The family is doing well as can be expected, and it feels better knowing how much Stephen was loved by friends and family. There will not be a funeral service, however there will be a celebration of life service held sometime in October to allow the family time to greave and make preparations. I'll share information as we move forward so distant loved ones will have an opportunity to make travel arrangements.
Stephen's greatest passion outside of his family was his long career as a cardiologist and educator. In lieu of flowers or food we ask that you instead donate to the Student National Medical Association, which is committed to supporting current and future underrepresented minority medical students, addressing the needs of underserved communities, and increasing the number of clinically excellent, culturally competent and socially conscious physicians. They do a lot of wonderful things and we know Stephen would be so proud to see his legacy continue.

This link directs you to a specific fund we feel he would be the most passionate about. If you'd like to specify that it goes to the University of Louisville you may.
A $25 donation to CaringBridge powers a site like Stephen's for two weeks. Will you make a gift to help ensure that this site stays online for them and for you?
