Stephen’s Story

Site created on January 5, 2023

Thank you for joining us in prayer and support for Stephen and the whole Moll family. On the morning of January 4th, Stephen suffered a significant stroke from a carotid artery dissection due to COVID. He was rushed to Methodist Hospital in Houston and they were able to quickly remove the clot from his brain and fix the dissection. He is currently on the long road to recovery and you can check back here for updates.

Journal entry by Beth Moll

(Dictated by Stephen)

I am being challenged as the primary caretaker for Sarah and Beth who both had surgery in the past two weeks. Beth had a total right hip replacement on 4/18 and Sarah had a second surgery on 4/12 to clean out and close her open wounds from her first surgery that did not heal well. Hannah and her boyfriend came for the fist week following Beth's surgery. They were tremendously helpful and we may not have made it through the week without them. Hannah was a fantastic nurse and Chace was an amazing chef. We ate very well.

Beth is doing remarkably well after a few hard days immediately following surgery. She is now getting around primarily with a cane after starting with a walker. Neither Sarah nor Beth can drive currently, so I have the privilege of serving as their chauffeur and helper. I am also in charge of the dog and Sarah's cats so my days are full. Both Sarah and Beth would appreciate visitors to break up the monotony of the day. We have also updated our meal train if anyone would like to help with a meal in the next week or two. I am still interested in coffee dates at the house with anyone who is interested.
