The plan now is just to observe closely and I’ll continue taking my endocrine therapy for 5-10 years along with my ovarian suppression (an injection every 3 months). Lots of emotions as active treatment comes to an end - excitement, fear, anxiety, and sort of lost as to how to transition back to “normal” life. Trying hard not to define normal since nothing will ever be normal again but thrilled to hopefully have this phase of my life behind me. 

I have unfortunately had several people I know be diagnosed with breast cancer recently and I was chatting with one of them earlier today. I was telling her all my tips and about my experience and it really hit me what a whirlwind this last year and half has been. Right around this time last year I was finishing what I’ve come to refer to as the bad chemo (TCHP) which feels like it was many years ago, not just a year. In these last 16 months I’ve been through 2 major surgeries, 20 rounds of chemo, 25 rounds of radiation, and medically induced menopause and it has been a complete blur. My surgeon told me when I was diagnosed that this is a marathon, not a sprint and he could not have been more right.
