Hi everyone!  To help me navigate all of this cancer-stuff, I am using this as a place to update friends and family.  Please do not feel like you have to donate to this site.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Stephanie Garde

Hi everyone!

As expected, the radiation continued to burn for another few weeks.  I have been struggling with pain from damaged nerves and some nasty skin burns.  In the past few days, the burns seem to finally be improving.  I am feeling closer to my pre-surgery condition.

My fatigue has improved.  This week, I hope to start walking once the skin heals enough to tolerate exercise.

I start taking Tamoxifen this week as well.

Hearing from friends and family, PLEASE get all the diagnostic tests that are available.  Pap smears and mammograms save lives.

Once last comment about mammograms.  I read some comments about how much they hurt.  I agree that for some of us, it is a few seconds of discomfort.  Heck, they can outright hurt!  That pain and discomfort is NOTHING close to the pain and discomfort I have had for the last few months.  Love your friends, family, and yourself!

This will be my final update.  I love all of you so much.  You were a part of my journey and I needed all of you.  If you need anything from me, I can be reached on Facebook (for now, ha ha) and at srg621@gmail.com.

Thank you, stay safe, and take care.

Stephanie
