Journal entry by Heather Murfield —
Saturday Sloan had a decent day, they continued to increase her feeds to try and work towards her normal home dose and rate. We continued nebulizer treatments and antibiotics to help keep her on the up and up. She continued to have short jerking movements but no seizure’s. We spoke with neurology and decided to add a second anti seizure medication to see if it could help. Saturday night Miss Sloan was able to sleep through the night and get some well needed rest.
Sunday morning the doctors decided to increase her feeds again and agreed to take her IV port out! Sloan was very excited about this, as it meant she only had her O2 monitor on and was able to sleep on her stomach again! Dad and Sloan cuddled and watch football/Christmas movies and she was able to get some naps and good rest in. She had her last Nebulizer treatment at 9:00pm and then slept well again.
Monday morning after meeting with Sloans doctors, they decided as long as she could tolerate a normal feed and they were able to find a pharmacy open on Christmas we would be able to go home! As of 3:00pm this afternoon, Sloan has been officially released from the hospital!
Thank you all for the prayers and thoughts in this last week. The amount of love and support we have in our corner is breath taking. Thank you doesn’t seem like enough but thank you all for everything. The texts, calls, and prayers.
