Beginning in the later part of April I noted that a mole on my right cheek began growing with the sun and heat. It was also around the time that Coronavirus struck full force in Nicaragua. I began trying some home measures thinking maybe I could take it off at home while I waited for Coronavirus to pass on.  This was not to be had and in the later part of June I decided it was time to try to get an appointment. I was able to have an appointment with a dermatologist July 16th at Vivian Pelas hospital in Managua, Nicaragua where we made an appointment to remove it on July 25th. On July 31st I received my biopsy results of Invasive Glandular Melanoma.
The doctor at Vivian Pelas is saying I will need an extensive face/neck surgery to remove any possible cancerous lymph nodes. With the in-availability of flights and no one able to  enter the country I desire to go to the states to get a second opinion and be near my family. It is a journey in which I am convinced God is faithfully leading even though I don't understand His ways.


A principios de abril noté que un lunar en mi mejilla derecha comenzó a crecer con el sol y el calor. También fue cuando el coronavirus golpeó con toda su fuerza en Nicaragua. Comencé a probar algunas medidas caseras pensando que tal vez podría quitármelo en casa mientras esperaba que el Coronavirus pasara. Esto no era posible y en la última parte de junio decidí que era hora de tratar de conseguir una cita. Pude tener una cita con un dermatólogo el 16 de julio en el hospital Vivian Pelas en Managua, Nicaragua, donde concertamos una cita para retirarlo el 25 de julio. El 31 de julio recibí los resultados de mi biopsia de melanoma glandular invasivo.


El médico de Vivian Pelas dice que necesitaré una cirugía extensa de cara / cuello para extirpar cualquier posible ganglio linfático canceroso. Con la falta de disponibilidad de vuelos y nadie puede ingresar al país, deseo ir a los estados para obtener una segunda opinión y estar cerca de mi familia. Es un viaje en el que estoy convencido de que Dios está guiando fielmente aunque no entiendo sus caminos.

"He (God) leadeth me, Oh blessed thought..." This has been a very comforting song to me over the last number of years and continues to remind me that sometimes while the path looks unclear I have a loving Father who is leading me. 
In January I again underwent routine scans and doctor visits at UVA and was blessed to receive a clean bill of health and the green light to not plan to come back before July. I am deeply grateful. 

Another exciting chain of events also transpired in January which lead to me preparing to take on the role of Director of Nursing at Mountain View Nursing Home(Aroda, VA) and also relocating to a house about 20 minutes east of where I had been living for the past 3 plus years. I begin the end of February, Lord willing, and am truly excited to see what all God has instore with this unfolding of events. 
May the story of our lives be always to the glory and honor of our Father. 

Él (Dios) me guía, oh pensamiento bendito..." Esta ha sido una canción muy reconfortante para mí durante los últimos años y continúa recordándome que a veces, aunque el camino no parece claro, tengo un Padre amoroso que me guía. a mí.

En enero volví a someterme a exploraciones de rutina y visitas al médico en la UVA y tuve la suerte de recibir un certificado de buena salud y luz verde para no planear regresar antes de julio. Estoy profundamente agradecido.

 

En enero también ocurrió otra emocionante cadena de eventos que me llevaron a prepararme para asumir el rol de Directora de Enfermería en Mountain View Nursing Home (Aroda, VA) y también a mudarme a una casa a unos 20 minutos al este de donde había estado viviendo durante los últimos 3 años o más. Empiezo a finales de febrero, si Dios quiere, y estoy realmente emocionado de ver lo que Dios tiene reservado con este desarrollo de los acontecimientos.

Que la historia de nuestras vidas sea siempre para gloria y honra de nuestro Padre.
