Journal entry by Adriana Sybenga —
I trust that all our Canadian relatives and friends had a great and happy thanksgiving day! Sid and I did not have a whole turkey for dinner, but we did have turkey and penne! And we were and continue to be thankful. Thankful to our Creator who gave Sid healing and a second chance at life! We are thankful to the amazing skills the doctors and nurses executed as they worked with Sid! And so thankful for all the support, encouragement , love given and all the many prayers on our behalf! There were a good number of days when I felt so helpless, and wondered about Sid’s outcome and then I would receive an encouraging word or be reminded that many people were traveling this journey close with me and from afar! Even today I find it hard to find the words to describe what all this means to me!
Sid is doing well and continues to amaze the home visiting nurses and therapists with the strides he has already made. His battle scars are healing and he is sleeping better, which is good as he still tires easily! We know it will still take more time for total healing, but we are very hopeful for our future! And know that we wish each of you God’s blessing always!
