Journal

Wow so I am not so good at updates so I will give the short version

I had my 3rd chemo on Jan 20th.   It was very early in the morning.  I have gained 10 lbs. I asked the doctor if that was normal and she laughed yes.  I am sure that wasn't in the handbook

I did my usual and slept through the entire infusion.  The way I like it.  I went home pumped with steroids and once again cleaned the house with all my energy just so I could get ready for the cleaners to come the next day.

Shockingly, I was not down hardly at all after chemo.  I slept good at night and was awake all day.  Around 7 I wanted to go to bed but kept myself up till 9. I only hope my next one goes this well.

The Hall of Fame vote came just a few days later.  Along with that I got the shingles.  We all know how the vote went

I also broke a tooth and had to have surgery to remove the rest.  I cried more when they told me what they had to do then when I was told I had cancer it felt like.  My teeth have always been my pride.  Now I am old,  bald, fat and missing a tooth.  Just how I imagined 53 to be

Garrison won a big game against our rival only to be shut down two weeks.  One kid on the team had Corona. All kids tested and his parents all negative.  But still had to wait two weeks on this crazy year.

Curt and I snuck off to Tennessee for the weekend.  Our plan was always to move to Tennessee.  I felt great to go and really needed a mini vacation.  It went great and even came home with a solid bid on a house.  No worries of us leaving anytime soon.  I still have one chemo and 33 radiations to go.

Jen flew out on Sunday and we finished the trip by going to see Aunt B and enjoying the sites in Knoxville.

Now I am back home to reality.  I get the maping for radiation on Tuesday and Wednesday is final chemotherapy.

Again, I have to thank everyone for the calls, meals, cards, gifts, texts and gifts.  I am certain the reminder of how many people are praying and thinking of me is what is keeping me so positive on my journey.

Much Love,

Shonda
