Hello!
I apologize for such a long time since my last post! I have finished four rounds of chemo, and I am ever so grateful to be finished with that phase of treatment. My last round was on November 20th, and I have since developed a sinus infection, so I am still feeling pretty run down. Each round seems to accumulate in terms of fatigue, and I am certainly feeling it! I did get to "ring the bell" on the 20th, and that was very exciting!
This past Monday I met my Radiologist, Dr Blas. I like him a lot. He speaks to me like an intelligent human being, something I have not been able to say about all the providers I have encountered during this journey so far. I believe I have encountered some of the best and some of the worst of American health care during the past 7 months. On Wednesday I had several CT scans done, so that they can begin to plan the radiation (phase 3!) treatment. I'll have a total of 25 treatments, over the course of 5 weeks. And yes, that means 5 days a week, for 5 weeks.
Is there anything you can do? If anyone wants to help drive me to radiation treatments, let me know. There's plenty of opportunity to go around here. Otherwise, send me lots of energy and warms thoughts. If you are in good health, come visit me! I am so thankful for all of you, your support through what is a long walk through the event of cancer in my life, and I offer up thanks for you all daily. My family and I are grateful for all of your support!
