Shirley Mary Herrmann, 84, of Ventura, California passed away on Saturday, March 10th peacefully at home after a lengthy illness. Shirley was born in Clairmont, NH to Euclide and Bertha LaBelle on February 1, 1934. She attended high school at Winooski HS in Winooski, VT, graduating in 1953 with honors. She earned a computer specialist degree from UCSB graduating in 1992 at the age of 58. She enjoyed learning, traveling and sightseeing with her late husband, Stanley Herrmann. She loved spending time with friends and family  Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart. She was executive secretary to presidents of the VA of Southern California, Southern California Gas Company and Hughes Aircraft.

 

She is survived by her son, Lawrence M. Willson (Elaine Garcia), her daughter, Ann E. Boone (Craig), her sister, Lucille Limoges (Ray), her brothers; Raymond LaBelle (Deceased), Robert LaBelle (Nancy-deceased), Kenneth LaBelle, her grandchildren, Harmony A. Willson, Brittany M. Willson, Bryana E. Boone and Conor M. Boone as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley D. Herrmann, her soul mate.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Red Cross Santa Barbara Co, (www.sbredcross.org) to aid Thomas fire and flood victims.

 

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to her many friends and caretakers who helped her have a better quality of life. She was a mover, shaker and light to any who came in contact with her. May her light shine on in the friendships and family she cared deeply about.

 

Graveside memorial service will be held at the Santa Barbara Cemetery on Friday, March 23rd at 11:00 am with a lunch to follow at the Fish House in Santa Barbara.  Family and friends are welcome.  Arrangements are under the care of JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, 757 E. Main Ventura.
