Sheri’s Story

Site created on September 17, 2018

While on the Island of St. Thomas, Sheri suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage (a type of stroke cause by a bleed in the brain) and was air lifted to the ICU in Ft. Lauderdale on 9/13/18.  She is currently sedated and intubated while the doctors search for the cause of the bleed.  This page will be used to communicate with friends and family of Sheri, as texts and Facebook have become overwhelming for her husband and children to respond to.  A GoFundMe account has been generously set up by friends of the family to help with the growing medical expenses.

Journal entry by Martin Levson

Millie's Zoom funeral was this afternoon. I was right by Sheri's side at JGS as I officiated the ceremony. It was a lovely service, and Millie's four grandchildren spoke beautifully and honestly about their relationship with their grandma/bubbie, and how fortunate they each were to have her in their lives.

It's always painful to lose a loved one, even if they are 94 years old. But to be lovingly eulogized by your four adult grandchildren is such an amazing testament to a life well lived!

“Days are scrolls – write on them what you want to be remembered.” (Rabbi Bachya ibn Pakuda, 11th century.) Millie Wolfson wrote on a LOT of scrolls, and she will be lovingly remembered by many people!
