Journal entry by Megan Hughes

Sherick has been home for a week and continues to heal from the seizures and hospitalization. He is getting a little stronger every day and has been seizure-free for a week. Incredibly, that amazing brain is functioning just fine. Puns and Dad jokes are back in full force.

He has been a trooper throughout these past two weeks. His voice is still grumbly and sore from the rough intubation. Sometimes the trauma of it all catches up to him and we have had some good cries.

He has been able to catch up with some of his doctoral students, take some short walks, and do general household stuff. I am staying close to him 24/7 to watch for seizure activity. In the next week, it would be helpful to have friends spend some time with him during the day (go for a walk, take him to brunch, or just hang out) so that I can run errands. We can explain his seizure protocol just in case and I will not be far away. Please connect with him if you are interested and available!

Is it possible that he planned this so that he could watch the entire NCAA tournament (men and women's)? The timing is suspicious...
