Yesterday, my girls and I went down to Philadelphia to see Dr. Pahys at Shriners Hospital. Sheri got 2 x-rays done of her back, and then we went to meet with the doctor. The last time we had been there was a year ago. He compares the new x-rays with those that were taken before. If her back isn't worse he just continues to follow her. This time, except for her head tilt, her back looked straight! Yesterday was the first she stood for the x-rays. He said often the curve is worse when they stand. It sure wasn't for her! This good news helps me accept the not-so-good news we got the middle of April when she had her last ultrasound on her kidneys. Her kidneys show swelling for the first time. They will do another ultrasound in July and a PSH (whatever that stands for, I keep forgetting) to check how she urinates. Dr Pahys said it goes with Klippel-Feil because the bones, heart, and kidneys all develop at the same time. How interesting!
May you all have a blessed day!
