Sheree’s Story

Site created on January 18, 2019

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting. Sheree has been battling CREST Syndrome for a couple of years. As part of CREST, she has also been suffering from Raynauds. The CREST is now affecting her lungs which then affects her heart.  Here is a summary of our understanding of what is going on. On top of battling CREST, she also has a lung disease called PVOD (Pulmonary Veno-Occlusive Disease). She will be going to the U of M for more tests. There is no cure. The only way to cure it is with a lung transplant, which we are not sure yet if she is a candidate for that or not because of the CREST.  We will try to keep this updated the best we can with all that is going on so that everyone is updated at the same time and place. Thank you for your prayers but keep them coming!

Journal entry by Danielle DeBerg

Psalm 73:26  "My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever."

This morning at exactly 6am Dad got a call from the nurse at Ava's House.  Mom had been up chatting with her most of the night, but within a matter of a few minutes she experienced drastic change.  Her vitals all started sinking quickly.  Dad called me right away, and we immediately went up to Ava's House.

When Dad and I arrived, the nurse met us just inside the doors.  She gave us a brief timeline of the events, and then told us mom had just passed away, a few minutes before we had arrived.  She said that she was very calm, and that it was very peaceful, which is exactly what we all had wished for Mom.

When Dad and I walked in, we were contented to see Mom.  She looked beautiful--much better than she had looked in months-maybe years.  We knew that she was where she needed to be to no longer suffering  pain and sickness.  We are so blessed to see and know that she is at peace in a place more glorious than we've ever seen, and was welcomed with open arms by her Lord and Savior and so many loved ones.

Thank you all for the prayers, messages, and calls of encouragement throughout this whole process, and for mom over the years.  She was a truly blessed woman by the love shared by so many people, and we know that she and all of us will continue to be lifted in prayer by our many friends and family.  A special thank you to Mom's siblings, Jeff, Rob and Pam, and Mom's Aunt Carolyn, for all the love to us, and communicating so much the past couple of months since mom was first admitted--you have helped us hold so much together.  Blessings to you all that have followed Mom's journey, as you have all blessed us.

****please note-due to Covid numbers in our area, we prefer everyone “visit” us with their prayers, rather than their presence, for safety of all.
