Journal entry by Shelly Burke

Hola from Mexico!!!
Arrived Tijuana on Sunday afternoon with an effortless wait at the border. Pam is accompanying me this week and she was introduced to some of the nurses and my Primary doctor at Hope4Cancer on Monday.
Monday consisted of lab work,  ultrasound and thermography.  That was pretty much it for the day.
Late Monday night / early Tuesday morning was a bit challenging for me.  I experienced one of my monthly "episodes". Body aches, headache,  light headed and abdominal pain.  A bit of a rough morning trying to rally to get ready for my pick up time of 8:30am.
When I arrived at H4C,
Dr. Romero suggested iv electrolytes and a multi vitamin.  A 3 hour infusion that helped, but the rest of the day I felt pretty crappy. We reviewed labs and my liver enzymes are elevated, ( causing constipation), CA-19 number has increased even more and some of the  lymph nodes are making a presence.  Liver tumor remains the same size. So, all in all, I'm going to look at it in a way that's positive.  If I'm feeling good physically and I am pretty much asymptomatic from liver cancer, then why place any energy on it?
The main thing I need to focus on is managing my stress.
It's with great sadness that I share with you that my mom passed away on May 10. Fortunately,  I was there with her the last few days and the family was present to witness her last breath.  It was beautiful and peaceful and I know that she is in a better place.
I now have the responsibility to make all the arrangements for her funeral.
I will be going back to New Mexico after I return from Tijuana.
As I continue my morning mantra, This too shall pass,  I reflect on what is good and the wonderful memories I have of mom. I will continue to stay positive and optimistic with my own health and live each day to its fullest.
Life is precious and you just never know what can happen.
Be kind. Love one another, (and yourselves), and be happy!

More treatments today, but it looks like I will be maintaining the same home protocol with Scorpion venom injections,  Mistletoe injections,  Shark spleen, Arsenic and a plethora of supplements. Extreme diet and managing my stress.

Have a great week everyone and thank you again for your love and support. 💚
