Journal entry by Trish Vanni —
Well it's been a rip-roaring week for Sheila Mary at the hospital. In other words, it's been slow and arduous! She's very debilitated from the very many days she was sedated in the ICU, and the PT and OT people are working her hard. one of them commented that it takes about 10 days of PT for every day you were in the ICU. That's quite a formula! So no Riverdance yet, just a slow and steady improvement plan.
She still on oxygen but is nowhere near as plugged in as she was this time last week. Next step will be to go to the hospital rehabilitation center across the river. It's looking like that might happen Thursday or Friday.
Please keep her in your prayers! she and I were chatting today and in a weird way this week has been very hard for her because it feels super surreal. At one point we were in the living room of her apartment talking to the EMS. That was the last thing she remembers and now she's feeling like she was hit by a truck.
But she's alive!!!
Hugs, gratitude to all of you,
Trish
