Journal entry by Lisa Rodebush —
The holidays are over and while they were good, 2018 did not leave very quietly. Sometime over the holidays, Sheila developed some kind of infection just above the site of her port. After a couple of weeks, the doctors made the decision to remove the port and put in a PICC line. The line is in her right arm and while it looks a little cumbersome; Sheila has adjusted to it. It delayed chemo by a couple of weeks but Sheila had her first chemo of 2019 on Friday, January 4th. So far, she is feeling good. She has managed to avoid a lot of the nasty side effects other than hair loss. We are so grateful for that.
Please keep praying for her and Donald. Her last PET scan showed a lot of improvement and we are hopeful for more good news in 2019.
