Sheila’s Story

Site created on February 16, 2024

Breast Cancer 2023 got me, but not by the grace of God. I found this church that was a nice fit for my little family. We had a water baptismal on October 15th. What a blessing. I hadn't felt well for some time. October 31st, I went to see my family, Dr., and I showed him the lump I had found on my right breast. Right away, he was leaning towards breast cancer and had me do further testing. After many tests and a biopsy, it was confirmed on November 27th that I had invasive carcinoma breast cancer. It was then I had to make a decision to move forward with surgery and cancer treatment. On Jan. 5th, I had a lumpectomy, and surgery was successful. I am currently receiving chemotherapy and an injection the day after chemo. Every 3 weeks for a 3 hour infusion. Chemo, and that injection has left me feeling sick and weak. Those nasty side effects of treatment are only temporary, and before I know it, I'll be back to enjoying a semi normal life with my 5 children and my beautiful granddaughter, Delilah Ann.
