Journal entry by Krista Boland —
Anyone who’s knows Sheila knows she’s a fighter, this courageous woman has lived battling cancer for years upon years. She’d continue to beat this ugly diagnosis to in turn be diagnosed with another form. She has never let that dim her light and has continued to fight and beat it time and time again.
Recently the decision has been made to begin hospice so that she can live these days comfortably. Sheila is no stranger to the hardship and pain of chemo and radiation and it’s an extremely rare day if you’d hear her complain about any of it but she is ready to hang up her chemo shoes and try to get the most out of the rest of her life.
Hospice can help her to be comfortable, she doesn’t have to make trips back and forth to the hospital or spend her days getting chemo and radiation and Sheila and her family want her to get peace and do so in a comfortable manner.
Amanda asked me to make this page as a way to keep family and friends updated. There are a lot of us who care deeply for the befort family so this is the perfect way to give daily or weekly updates so all are informed. Amanda is a co-author on this page so I’m sure she’ll be using this method frequently for communication.
Thank you all for taking the time to read the initial update and for being here to support this incredible family.
