Here is the obituary for mom. Thank you all for your kind words. They mean so much!

Sharon Dean Raines Morris went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 9, 2023 in Valdosta, GA. surrounded by her beloved family.

Sharon was a devout Christian and pastor’s wife who loved Jesus, her church and her family. Sharon graduated from Weogufka High School in 1981. She was a member of Marble City Baptist Church. While a member of their youth choir she met her husband George Ferrell Morris and they were married for 40 years.

Sharon’s infectious kind spirit radiated the love of Jesus into everyone she came in contact with. She will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her and leaves a void that can never be filled.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 40 years, George Ferrell Morris, daughters, Hannah Grace Morris, Sarah Grace Morris, and her adopted daughter Amy Smith. Her sister in-law Jada Holland (Daren), her nieces, Devin Blakely (David), Dara Phillipowski (Wayne), Payton Cheeks (Jeremy), and Jordan Raines, her brothers, Chris Raines (Lisa), and Scott Raines (Sissy).

At the young age of 12, Sharon felt that God called her to serve in ministry and she served faithfully for over 40 years as a pastor’s wife across 6 states. During this time she led many support groups for abused women, mentored and taught countless students and children and served for eleven years as the Director of “A Women’s Pregnancy Center” in Madison, FL. Sharon counseled girls that found themselves in crisis and as a result saved countless lives.

Celebration of Life Service will be Friday, March 17, 2023 at Marble City Baptist Church in Sylacauga, AL. Visitation at 11:30am, Service at 1pm with Graveside to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Rob McClane and Benny Reynolds will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations to A Women’s Pregnancy Center in Tallahassee, FL be made in her memory. Donations can be made at: awomenspregnancycenter.com
