Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Mom has been a Music teacher 30 years and played the organ and piano music for Churches and Choir for 58 years. My mom was a Community Chorus Director for 21 years. Mom and Dad were both High School teachers for many years. Mom and Dad traveled all over the USA pulling a camper/ RV and travel across seas so they traveled for 59 years. There are 4 of us grown adult children, 3 other siblings, 13 grandchildren. She has all her fur babies too...Lucky ( Medical Alert/Emotional Support Service Dog), Monty, and 3 cats as well. We have a Zoo! All of us that live down here in Southeast AZ are helping Mom and also Dad. Our whole family is very supportive in Mom’s (Sharon) decisions and helping our Dad (Ed). We now do a LOT. Of Zooming with each other as a family. My retired parents moved to Sierra Vista AZ in Sept 1998 and have been here since.

Last week on Wednesday August 5, 2020, our Mom - Sharon Keene was admitted into the hospital in Tucson AZ at Tucson Medical Center because she wasn’t feeling well for several weeks. She was pale, weak, felt ill, had lost 20 something pounds and her BP was lower than normal. So TMC put her through a lot of testing - MRI, CT Scan, Lab work, and etc. Mom was in there for a week.

Monday August 10th she was discharged from the hospital to come home. On Tuesday August 11, Mom had an Oncology appointment with Dr Bajaj at Arizona Oncology. The diagnosis was Colon Cancer on the right lower side, size is a little over a 50 cent piece. Which has spread (Stage 4) to her liver on both lobes front and some on the back. That is not the end of the story however, there will be no surgery, but she has multiple options to choose from to battle the cancer. Once she chooses the option that she wants to start with the treatment will begin on August 19,2020.

She wants me to tell all of you, that she is a tough old bird with a positive attitude. My Mom is a STRONG Lady and will be putting up a Fight! With your support and prayers she plans to beat this. Thanks for all your love, I will keep in touch as things progress on this site.

Mom said this: My adult children, grandchildren, good family, good friends which is my great support team! She also has a great support team with all of you as well! Thank you so much EVERYONE! *Happy Tears*

Please keep our Mom in your prayers and thoughts at this time.
