Journal entry by Ron Thompson —
Our journey with Sharon’s pancreatic cancer began almost one year ago. We have seen the Lord’s direction in many ways throughout that time – from the original diagnosis, to the major “whipple” surgery in August, the doctors, surgeon and nurses, the chemo infusions, CTscans and other medical treatments. Last week she had another CTscan; yesterday the PA-C at Missions Cancer reviewed the results of the scan with us. One word she said several times was ‘awesome’. The report could not have been better, she said, especially since it was pancreatic cancer; the scan showed there was no sign of cancer anywhere. As a preventative measure, she will have scans every 3 months for a couple years and then semi-annually after that to watch for any changes.
First we want to thank the Lord for all that He has done. Moses and his people sang “Who is like You among the gods, O LORD – glorious in holiness, awesome in splendor, performing great wonders?” The obvious answer is that no one is like Him (Exodus 15:11). In one of David’s songs of joy and praise he said “You faithfully answer our prayers with awesome deeds, O God our Savior” (Psalm 65:5).
Second we want to thank you for many acts of love shown to her. Meals, calls, visits, numerous cards and especially your prayers. It’s impossible to put into words our gratitude. We believe in everything that happens the Lord will carry out His Perfect Will in His Perfect Way. So we will probably not be posting any updates in the immediate future. Trust God’s best for all of you.
