Journal entry by Shawn Badinger —
Hi all,
It’s Shannon. I got to go home yesterday evening, after 8 days in the hospital. It felt very long. We (Shawn was with me) are so glad to be home with the kids, and getting to enjoy my recliner and bed! We are grateful the kids were in Tenn a lot of the time, so they weren’t home alone much. We had planned an awesome mini-vacation in Tenn for the school’s winter break - and at least the kids still got to enjoy it with our family and friends.
I am in no hurry to go back to the hospital, so I am going to work hard on figuring out this new puréed/liquid diet I have to follow going forward. I already liked mashed potatoes and gravy a lot, and I love ice cream, so that is helpful. I have since learned puréed corn is good, and puréed green beans are disgusting. Don’t know how to get good BBQ into this format - puréed meat is pretty gross. :) I am just looking forward to having a smoothie for lunch.
Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers! We really appreciate it.
