Today's update is the one we hoped we'd never have to write as Shaila's Mom, Angela, and I had to make the choice to rip our own hearts out. We have to let our baby girl go. There was simply too much damage done to her brain. We were told at best some day she may open her eyes. We listened we cried and agreed. Those of you who really know Shaila know how full of life, and excitement she is. She would never recognize or hold Caroline Jo, or any of us and we know in our heart of hearts she would hate that "life". In keeping up with her spirit of looking out for other people she is an organ donor. The gift of her will help so that other families can avoid this day and hopefully transfer some of her spirit into others, and they can spread it through the world. Lets all face it, the world needs more Shailas in it. Thank all of you so much for all the love and support given through this ordeal. Believe me, it has been felt by all of us and we have been absolutely overwhelmed by it. I am just sorry for all who love her that it wasn't the outcome we'd hoped for. Go out in your yard, grow some sunflowers and you know she will be there
